EXHIBITING GROWERS PRIORITY NUMBER 1 AT IFTF 2013!

Amsterdam, Thursday April 4, 2013. Organizers of the International Floriculture Trade Fair IFTF will put special emphasis on (foreign) exhibiting growers of flowers & plants in this year’s trade exhibition. IFTF must be a true growers expo in the first place. An event where the grower is not only visitor but exhibitor as well. Following the example of other flower trade fairs HPP has been organizing abroad in the past 25 years, such as the ones in Ecuador, Kenya, Ethiopia and Russia, also IFTF should reserve a prime role for the exhibiting grower.

Although the exhibition already has a considerable number of growers exhibiting since the fair started off in 2010, in order to push the expo to the next level and to make it even more attractive for the international buyers of flowers and plants to visit IFTF, it has been decided that as of this year extra attention will be given on attracting more growers to exhibit. “We will take care that Ecuadorian, Colombian, Kenyan, Ethiopian and growers from other flower producing countries will be able to present themselves to a maximum extent, in order to be able to offer a marketplace where buying and selling of flowers and plants can be done without conditions nor limitations”, according to Dick van Raamsdonk, General Manager of IFTF. “At this moment more than 75 flower growers already exhibit in the 2013 edition of IFTF, but we want to increase this number in order to achieve an even better balance between exhibiting growers, traders, suppliers and breeders.

The IFTF will this year for the first time be held during the same dates and at the same premises as IHTF, the new International Horticulture Trade Fair. Both fairs will be held from Wednesday November 6 to Friday November 8 at Expo Haarlemmermeer in Vijfhuizen, Holland.

IFTF launches new trade fair for the horticulture industry: IHTF!

Amsterdam, Thursday March 28. HPP Exhibitions today announced that it will launch an new expo IHTF on the fairgrounds of Expo Haarlemmermeer in Vijfhuizen. The International Horticulture Trade Fair IHTF will be organised simultaneously with the existing IFTF Expo, already being held at the fairgrounds in Vijfhuizen. Also the FloraHolland Trade Fair in Aalsmeer will be held during the same dates as IFTF and IHTF. All exhibitions will run from Wednesday November 6 through Friday November 8.

Especially technical suppliers of the Horticulture sector are faced with having to miss a trade fair for their industry this year in Holland and therefore HPP Exhibitions decided to present Expo Haarlemmermeer as a very suitable alternative. Several (technical) Horticultural suppliers have been signing up for stand space in IHTF since, after it became known last week in the press that Horti Fair will not take place this year. Besides the fact that there is currently sufficient exhibition space available in Expo haarlemmermeer (34,000 m²) and as well more exhibition space can easily be made available, also the IFTF trade fair is taking place at this location already since 2010 and with great success.

“This is an important step into the direction of one big trade fair in Holland for Horticulture, lifting the industry to its next level by growing towards a World Horticultural Trade Fair”, according to Dick van Raamsdonk, director of the expo. “As many in the industry have been wanting to bring the different trade fairs together at one location for some time, this opportunity is an excellent chance to achieve that goal. The fact that not the RAI in Amsterdam nor the flower auction in Aalsmeer but Expo Haarlemmermeer in Vijfhuizen, has been chosen by HPP as home base for IFTF and IHTF, proofs the potential of Expo Haarlemmermeer. Moreover the location is very close to where the FloraHolland Trade Fair, being held in the flower auction in Aalsmeer, takes place” .

IFTF 2012 living up to its expectations.

Vijfhuizen, Tuesday November 6, 2012. Last week's held and Dutch based IFTF Expo successfully closed its doors. With 18,000 trade visitors, an increase of 6,000 compared to last year, this number was an all time high. Also the quality of visitors improved tremendously and exhibitors were delighted about the excellent quality of so many attending international buyers. "IFTF Expo has, in its third edition, become a grown up international floriculture trade show and is ready to grow from 16,000 m2's to 48,000 m2's, according to Dick van Raamsdonk, spokesman of the expo.

Having the Floraholland trade fair taking place in the auction at the same time and almost around the corner, IFTF's home base Expo Haarlemmermeer is the ideal location to further develop this exhibition to the next level. Besides the available 48,000 m2 exhibition space, the abundant presence of natural daylight, the big number number of available parking spaces (4500), the excellent accessability by public transportation (20 minutes from Schiphol Airport) as well as by car (with no traffic jams at all), contribute greatly to the ideal location for such a fair in this former Floriade building. "I am convinced that because of all what this exhibition building can offer, the IFTF will be able to live up to its name and further grow to become one of the most important floriculture trade fairs in the world". "I have been working abroad for 27 years in floriculture and horticulture trade fairs and it is time to start using all this experience and knowledge as well for a fair in my home country", Dick van Raamsdonk concluded. IFTF Expo will take place in 2013 from November 6 to November 8.
