Horticulture wil soon flourish again in Zimbabwe

Harare, Thursday September 27, 2018. In less than 2 weeks the first international horticulture & floriculture trade show “Hortiflor” will be held in the Harare International Convention Center, the HICC, in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe.

There is an enormous enthusiasm among the growers in Zimbabwe to start exporting again and a loud buzz going around that the moment “to take off” has come. It is therefore bound to happen, and with the knowledge that Zimbabwe once was the second largest exporter of African fresh flowers and fresh produce, it doesn’t need a lot of imagination that Zimbabwe is on the move and cannot be stopped anymore. Especially with the new warm welcome policy of the Zimbabwean government to the world to invest in its horticulture and floriculture sector, it is not if but a matter of when Zimbabwe will recapture its place in the top 3 of biggest African export nations of flowers, vegetables and fruits. And although it will for sure take a couple of years before the mission will be accomplished, momentum is there now. The first edition of Hortiflor will proof it right. Just come and visit, and see it happening with your own eyes!
